Tom Ford fragrances are unique, so different to anything you’ve smelled before. The scents are very genuine and loaded with lots of ingredients to make you feel wrapped up in the smell of the fragrance theme. Bois Morocain is all about Morocco and the smell is so so spiced. It is the typical smell you feel when you enter in a tarot or medium shop or even, a hippie shop with josticks, incense and different aromas which immerse you in a desert environment or ancient Aladdin times.

All in all, I love the smell. The top notes are a mélange of Madagascan black pepper, cypress and bergamot that provide fresh peaks and sparkle to balance its darkly refined opulence. Baies rose orpur delivers a spiced floral vibrancy, while the smooth heart of the fragrance, thuya, drenches the skin like molten gold. Nutmeg and davana enhance the ambrosial sensuality of the scent. An enduring base blends the textures of different cedar essences: cedar atlas with Indonesian patchouli orpur penetrates the skin and mixes with exotic facets of incense, patchouli and earthy vetiver to leave a lasting impression.

The new scent will be offered in the original private blend packaging inspired by the dark brown glass colouring of the apothecary bottles used in perfume laboratories. The 50ml flacon is created to be weighty in the hand and has the sleek architectural look of a chess piece. The 250ml decanter is carved with the highest level of craftsmanship. Bois Marocain launches exclusively in Selfridges stores on Wednesday 10 June 2009.
