A woman in her 40s has revealed that she has suddenly developed a new passion - sex.

Despite not being that interested in sex with her former husband, who left her for another woman three years ago, she told the Mirror's Dr Miriam that a new, and considerably younger, partner has reignited her lust.

However, she can't work out how this change has occurred.

Simple, replies Dr Miriam, it's "chemistry".

"Lucky you. Women do want sex as much as men. The challenge is for it to be memorable. Women like sex to have a beginning, middle and end and not be all about their partner's satisfaction."

Miriam goes on to add: "Women's sexuality reaches its high point at your age. Maybe the years have knocked away inhibitions you had with your husband. Or maybe happiness with your new partner has unlocked the key to sexual fulfilment."
