Porn clips that appear to feature the White Stripes' drummer Meg Matthews are fake, according to the musician's record company.

The images show the usually shy lady in some explicit sexual positions, and have been bombarding the internet.

Meg's management however have fiercely denied the suggestion that the person in the hardcore videos is the musician and claimed they are a "twisted" prank.

"We as a label believe some people have a very twisted sense of humor and this prank is in particularly bad taste.

"The tape circulating on the internet as featuring Meg White is fake. It's definitely not Meg."

Just to add further intrigue to the situation, Meg and Jack White, her fellow band member have announced that they are canceling some of their gigs because the drummer is unwell.

"Meg White is suffering from acute anxiety and is unable to travel at this time. We hate to let people down and are very sorry."
