ITV are apparently so worried about all the excitement Billie Piper's new drama The Secret Diary of A Call Girl is going to provoke that they think it might crash their internet site.

TV execs anticipate that the website where they will be screening the first episode of the series before it hits TV screens will be flooded with interest and go into meltdown.

"I'm not sure the site's going to cope!" an ITV source told the Daily Star.

"The moment the show goes online there's going to be chaos!"

The 24-year-old pop star-turned-actress is playing the part of a high-class hooker in the programme, and learnt her kinky moves from real-life call girls and dominatrixes.

"I now know how to whip a man without bruising, scarring or making him bleed!" she told Closer magazine.
