One serious fan of the Sex and the City series has forked out over 25 grand just to attend the upcoming film's premiere.

After battling for the special ticket on eBay, the Japanese woman bid $52,100 (£25,930) and won the place, which means she will attend the star-studded gala night in New York on May 27th.

And not only this, but she and her fiance will get to attend the event escorted by Kristin Davis, who plays one of the show's main characters, Charlotte York.

Beforehand, the woman will also get the celebrity treatment with professional hair and make-up styling as well as a pair of Jimmy Choos to don on the red carpet.

The total sum bid will be given to Oxfam, Kristin confirmed to Us Weekly.

Scarlett Johansson also raised money for the charity earlier this month after auctioning off the opportunity to attend the LA premiere of He's Just Not That Into You with her to a British man for $40,100 (£20,000).
