Scots are a sexy bunch, according to a new survey.

A poll by the Daily Record has revealed that up in the chilly Highlands they get frisky on average 29 times a month and have even experimented romping outdoors, including on beaches (22 per cent) and in park woods (12 per cent).

When it came to sex appeal, Scots said a sense of humour was the top-most attractive characteristic (59 per cent), followed by a good physique (52 per cent).

And regarding sexual antics on a first date? It's a thumbs up from our Scottish neighbours with two-thirds (66 per cent) saying that sex on a first date was okay with them, and a further 67 per cent did not believe it was a sign of promiscuity.

Good old traditional bedroom rules still stand firm for older Scots in the 55-plus group, with the majority thinking that it should be a man's role to get things started.

Most people said however that it was now a level-playing field, agreeing that both men and women could initiate some action.
