Relationships exhibition receives sex toy

When you think of the words 'museum exhibition', we wouldn't automatically suppose images of sex aids in glass cabinets appear?

But the Museum of Broken Relationships isn't any old travelling show. It's an opportunity for people to cast away items which remind them of a failed relationship, be it a hot love affair or a marriage, and share its significance.

The exhibition has just arrived in Berlin and already received some kinky items, including some pink furry handcuffs, as well as more violent objects (an axe) and one woman's wedding dress.

"It's such a nice, simple idea, because everyone can relate to it. It's not pretentious, it's interactive, a place where people can present their own stories and compare them to others," Zvonimir Dobrovic, who is organising the Berlin show, told BBC News.

"Even if the objects seem ordinary the stories are very individual and they make the exhibition come alive."
