Online dating services enable people to get to know each other better before meeting up, relationship advisers have suggested to savvy singletons.

Denise Knowles, a relationship counsellor for the advice outlet, acknowledged that blind dates can be a lot of fun, but they differ from interactive courting options.

When it comes to first impressions, she noted, "it's not always going to be just about appearance".

"Sometimes people say to me that they feel as though they know the person better than if they'd just been on a blind date," Denise remarked of individuals who begin the dating process from their desktop.

"Before they actually meet up it's likely that they'll exchange a lot of information about each other, they may have spoken on the telephone as well and maybe taken something from one another's voices," she continued.

Sassy single babe Cameron Diaz recently came out in favour of 'me time' by telling reporters that she is currently enjoying having fun on her own (wink, wink) for a change, though she remains "boy mad".
