If you were thinking that the life of an air hostess or air steward was all fun and games and 'mile high' romps, then think again.

A new raunchy soap set aboard a plane has angered air stewards due to unrealistically saucy content.

Members of the Thai Airways International union have found the steamy depiction of their profession in the show The Air Hostess War so outrageous that they are calling on the Cultural Ministry to pull the plug.

Leader of the movement and Thai Airways flight attendant Noppadol Thaungthong, said that the series, which sees attendants involved in steamy love triangles and onboard fights, was "damaging to the reputation of flight attendants".

"This soap opera is insulting and damaging to the reputation of flight attendants.

"It's all about sex and air hostesses beating each other up in the cabin because of love and jealousy. This kind of thing never happens.

"We are demanding that the station and the producers immediately stop airing this ugly soap opera."
