More sex and relationship talk please, we

Parents should chat about sex and relationships with their children more as it would cut the number of teenage pregnancies in the country.

That's the conclusion of a new report from those in the know at the Teenage Pregnancy Independent Advisory Group (TPIAG), the Press Association reports.

In their analysis of the nation's sex knowledge, the crew suggest that mums and dads should be sent advice packs to help them broach the 'birds and bees' subject, while telly bosses should be less backward about showing condom ads.

"TPIAG would like to see restrictive and outdated broadcasting standards reviewed and overhauled to ensure positive sexual health messages, including the advertising of condoms, are communicated effectively before the 9pm broadcast watershed," states the report.

Gill Frances from the organisation added: "Parents are a child's first educators and they need to know how to talk about the issues if we are serious about reducing teenage pregnancy in this country."

In other teenage sex news (!), those famously feisty Tasmanian devil creatures - the ones that live in Oz - are reportedly getting it on at a younger age because it's a matter of life or death.

Scientists say the rampant youthful rutting is a bid to ward off a deadly facial tumour disease.
