Aussies are harbouring a secret fantasy, according to a new poll.

They are desperate to become members of the Mile High club! A survey by Totaltravel.com has revealed that 60 per cent of Sheilas and Bruces either want to try out some passion in the skies or already have.

Over one in ten (12 per cent) admitted to getting frisky onboard a flight, while 1,110 said that if the opportunity beckoned, they'd jump at the chance.

However, 42 per cent said getting hot and bothered in a bog was not their idea of hot stuff.

Global marketing manager for the website Paul Fisher said: "People are obviously looking for more stimulating entertainment than a movie or a CD when travelling by plane.

"Mind you, with the advent of the new A380 super jumbos, some boasting configurations with full-sized standalone beds, earning one's stripes is a lot easier than it once was."
