Big Brother-style spying eyes are being used to target dating duos who see cinema outings as a chance to get snogging in the back row.
The Odeon chain has resorted to the cameras to stop people getting it on in its theatres - with footage of the frolics in question possibly beamed to customers in the foyer.

"I'm not happy about it. Isn't that why going to the cinema is so fun - so you can have a kiss and a cuddle in the back row?" Birmingham film fan James Dolan remarked to reporters.

"Not only that, but it is a complete infringement of my civil liberties," he added.

Glasgow and Manchester are among the cities to have the £30,000 gadgets set up so far, and all new Odeon cinemas will have the prying lenses installed.

The chain's people maintain the moves are aimed at cutting crime and protecting customers from disruptive behaviour.

Hmm, we're thinking the foyer could become an evening's entertainment in itself…
