Dating couples can liven up their bedroom routine by investing in some of nature's herbal aphrodisiacs, it has been suggested.

Henrietta Norton, a senior nutritionist with herb specialist Healthy Direct, noted that erectile dysfunction and a low libido are common male moans in many a relationship – but both can be combated easily.

"I think the beauty of the natural, herbal approach is that you're not going to do anything detrimental by taking something that might enhance your libido," she remarked.

She continued: "It may increase your libido so you may feel more 'up for it.' You would probably find that where you might otherwise feel stressed after a week at work, you might not feel quite so stressed and you might not want quite such an early night!"

Ms Norton concluded by emphasising that horny aids on sale on the high street often end up benefiting bonking enthusiasts who would otherwise have turned to a doctor.
