He came, he saw, he conquered - David Beckham fever is officially taking over the US.

With a little help from his new Hollywood friends, David Beckham greeted a host of stars attending the official welcome party put on to celebrate his (and Posh's, of course…) arrival in the States.

Held in the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, and co-hosted by Tom Cruise and Will Smith, the event was sure to draw out the rich and famous in their droves.

Brooke Shields, Eva Longoria, Bruce Willis, Demi Moore and Aston Kutcher were among those packing the party - before the royal couple arrived accompanied by Tom Cruise and wife Katie Holmes, and Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.

A proper Hollywood affair, the red carpet was rolled out, police patrolled for miles, and television crews and paparazzi documented every star-studded moment.

No-one cared that Beckham could only manage 12 minutes of his debut as a LA Galaxy player on Saturday against Chelsea. After all, it's not about football is it?
